Yankees trade Nick Ramirez to Dodgers for cash considerations

The New York Yankees traded left-handed pitcher Nick Ramirez to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced Tuesday.

The 34-year-old southpaw spent the 2023 season with the Yankees, logging a 2.66 ERA in 40.2 innings. He allowed 23 hits, 15 runs (13 earned) and seven walks while striking out 14 during the 2023 campaign.

This move likely came in correspondence to the acquisition of right-handed pitcher Jake Cousins, who arrives in a trade with the Chicago White Sox.

Cousins was added to the 40-man roster after the trade. With Victor Gonzalez and Caleb Ferguson holding the lefty roles out of the bullpen on the 26-man roster, Ramirez was likely a luxury.

In 96 career appearances, Ramirez has a 4.04 ERA in 151.1 innings pitched.
