UFC 296 full card results, schedule for Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington, Alexandre Pantoja vs Brandon Royval 2

Las Vegas is the place to be when Leon Edwards defends the UFC welterweight title against Colby Covington at UFC 296 on Saturday night.

Covington returns after last fighting in March 2022. The former interim UFC welterweight champion is 0-2 in championship fights and 2-2 in his previous four contests.

“Chaos” still utilizes a controversial persona, and the wrestler told The Sporting News that when he wins, former President Donald Trump will present him with the welterweight title.

Edwards has been unbeaten since 2016, the only blip on his resume being a no-contest against Belal Muhammad. The English fighter beat Kamaru Usman, Covington’s former rival, twice to win and retain the UFC welterweight title. Regardless of the insults coming his way, it will be their fists doing the talking on fight night.

“A character is just a character, but the way he competes is just the way he is,” Edwards told the UFC. “When the doors are closed, it’s just me and him. Trump can’t save him. Nobody can save him. It’s going to be a good fight.”
