Stephen Curry 3-point streak ends: How Warriors star lost his NBA-record run at 268 games

They’re just 26 games in, but it’s already been a strange season for the Warriors. The latest occurrence has made it even stranger.

In a 118-114 win over the Trail Blazers on Sunday, Stephen Curry was limited to just seven points while shooting 2 of 12 from the field and missing all eight of his 3-point attempts. The performance ended Curry’s NBA-record 268-game streak with at least one made 3-pointer.

Despite an uncharacteristic shooting night, Curry played an integral role with a game-high tying eight assists and was a team-high plus-14 in the box score. And while the Warriors moved to 12-14 on the season with the win, the ending of the historic streak has been the game’s biggest story.

Before Sunday, Curry’s last outing without a made 3-pointer was on Nov. 8, 2018, when he missed all four 3-point attempts in a loss to the Bucks. At that time, Kevin Durant was still with the Warriors and Giannis Antetokounmpo had yet to win an MVP award.

To put it in perspective, 1,865 days passed between the two times that Curry failed to hit a 3 in a regular-season game. Here’s how Curry’s streak ended and where it stands in comparison to the others.
