Best NBA prop bets today: Victor Wembanyama, LaMelo Ball, Nikola Jokic highlight top over/under picks for Friday’s In-Season Tournament action

Friday night hoops will be in full effect this evening, with 11 In-Season Tournament games lined up between 7:00 and 10:30 p.m. ET. Among the highlights, we’ll see a Damian Lillard-LaMelo Ball duel in Charlotte, rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs hosting Domantas Sabonis and the Kings, and the reigning-champion Nuggets facing Zion Williamson’s Pelicans. It will be a must-see TV Friday for hoops fans, and a great opportunity for us to put together a player prop parlay on SuperDraft

If you tailed my SuperDraft props last Wednesday, you made some pretty sweet hump-day dough. We had Embiid under 12 rebounds, Wemby under 19.5 points, Tyrese Haliburton over 11.5 assists, and Kristaps Porzingis over 23.5 points + rebounds, and we hit on all four. Then we hit on three of our top four picks last Friday night, another solid outing. We’re rolling, and we hope we can help you roll to a big prop windfall tonight!

Like always, we do the research and then find the best values on the SuperDraft player prop market. We deep-dive split stats and matchup data, look for angles to attack, then share the picks we’ve pinpointed for you in a concise little column. Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

Let’s get to our picks and break down five of our favorite player props on SuperDraft for Friday night’s NBA In-Season Tournament slate. Remember: you don’t necessarily have to combine all four picks together. You could make separate two-leg parlays to increase your win probability, or you could attempt to hit it big if all five picks come through. Good luck, have fun, and Happy Friday!

Best NBA prop bets today: Top player prop picks

1. Victor Wembanyama, F/C, Spurs vs. Kings — OVER 10 rebounds

I’ve faded or smashed the UNDER on Wemby props multiple times this season, a strategy that has worked three times out of four. Today I’m betting Wemby’s OVER on the boards, because he has been a beast on the glass since the calendar flipped to November.

In seven November games, Wembanyama has averaged 10.3 rebounds. Over the Spurs’ past two games — against Bam Adebayo and the Heat and Chet Holmgren and the Thunder — he has averaged 12.5! He’s playing a more assertive, aggressive brand of basketball than he did in October, and in turn Gregg Popovich has trusted him to play the five to close out games.

Wemby’s average run has gone up considerably, too. After averaging just over 27 minutes per game in October, he has seen his minutes skyrocket to 31.4 per game in November. In San Antonio’s past three home games, he has averaged a whopping 35.4 minutes. With Domantas Sabonis and company crashing the boards for tonight’s In-Season Tournament game, expect Wemby to be very active once again and easily reach 11 rebounds for a third straight time.

2. LaMelo Ball, PG, Hornets vs. Bucks — OVER 25.5 points

LaMelo looked a bit rusty out of the gates this season, but he has turned it up in a major way over the past few games with fellow guard Terry Rozier on the shelf with a groin injury. Over Charlotte’s past five games, Ball has averaged 29.8 points with shooting splits of 50/44/86. That’s the type of production that helped LaMelo bring down Rookie of the Year and All-Star honors in his first two years in the Association.

The Bucks’ defense just ain’t what it used to be with Jrue Holiday in Boston. Ball might end up in a shooting duel with Milwaukee superstar Damian Lillard, something we’ll absolutely be tuning in to see. In a massive In-Season Tournament home game against a below-average perimeter defense, we’ve got Ball easily hitting the OVER this evening.

3. Jalen Brunson, PG, Knicks at Wizards — OVER 25.5 points

Brunson continues to impress as the Knicks’ go-to scorer, especially in big games and against poor defensive backcourts. Against Tyus Jones and Jordan Poole — an undersized point and a defensive turnstile — we like the Brunson Burner’s chances of putting up 26-32 points for the fourth time this young season.

The Mavericks’ Luka Dončić and Tim Hardaway just combined for 57 points against Washington on Wednesday, en route to a 130-117 thumping that dropped the Wiz to 2-9 on the season. Wes Unseld Jr.’s squad has surrendered the third-most points per game, while maintaining the fifth-worst defensive rating. Daniel Gafford down low provides some rim protection, but overall this squad just flat-out stinks at making stops. Brunson averaged 26.5 points per game against DC last season, so we’re backing him to continue his strong start and best 25 tonight.

4. Nikola Jokić, C, Nuggets at Pelicans — UNDER 32.5 points or OVER 9.5 assists

Jonas Valančiūnas and the Pelicans tend to play Jokić tough — much tougher than the majority of the rest of the Western Conference — so we like the idea of a little two-fer parlay with Joker’s scoring UNDER and assists OVER. Looking back at Jokić’s 2022-23 splits against New Orleans, he averaged 27.7 points and 11.3 assists per game across the three-game series.

With Zion Williamson and Herb Jones also back to full health, the Pels have only gotten better on the defensive side of the court since last season. Expert Joker to be moving the ball and creating for others to avoid the constant banging, bruising, and double-teaming he’s sure to see from Big V, Zion, and Herb.
